Managing director of In-Sight Associates, which she founded to advance innovation and improvement in publicly funded healthcare.

For more than 25 years Shannon has been a trusted thought partner and project executor for health leaders launching innovative business solutions and next-generation clinical services. She is passionate about supporting the high-level functioning of organizations and the people in these organizations, with the goal of improving the health outcomes for people living with complex life circumstances.

Shannon Mong’s expertise in motivating cross-functional teams spans diverse healthcare environments and roles, including consulting, public healthcare program administration, direct service provision, and a multi-state community behavioral health agency. A certified facilitator, she weaves together structured approaches to system design, program planning, and change management — paired with a collaborative style that unleashes participation, ownership, and creativity that results in large-scale adoption and sustainability.

She has helped health care organizations and partners save millions of dollars by reducing costly and preventable utilization and dramatically improving population health outcomes. For more than 25 years she has worked with clients and partners to successfully design and implement two of the most challenging systems changes: integrating physical health and substance use treatment into behavioral health and improving outcomes of people with the most complex life circumstances.

Shannon is a third-term board member of the College of Behavioral Health Leadership and a frequent presenter who spreads clinical practice innovation, enhances team development and fosters the resilience of people and organizations.

A licensed psychologist, Shannon Mong received a doctorate of clinical psychology degree from the Wright Institute and a bachelor of arts in communications from Mills College.

“Shannon is so gifted in organizing, leading, and collaborating. Shannon has the ability to see a project from a larger organizational perspective and move it forward to completion. Her ability to train, lead and listen is remarkable.”
